The Dawani Student Core Group (Dawani SCG) of the CBSUA Bicol Regional Gender and Development Resource Center (BRGADRC) successfully conducted its VAW First Responders Orientation and GAD Core Group Turnover, Oathtaking, and General Assembly on November 28, 2025.
The activity formally marked the oath-taking of the newly elected officers and the conclusion of the apprenticeship program, officially recognizing the apprentices as full members of the organization.
The first part of the program highlighted the Turnover, Oathtaking, and General Assembly. Outgoing Convener John Rey Estiva facilitated the turnover of pertinent documents to the new set of officers: Acting Convener Julius Annestien Mantes, Legislative Officer Jerrymie Lagat, Finance Officer Sheila Argente with Deputy Robert Ramos, and Operational Officer Marilyn Amaro with Deputy John Brent Colambo.
Dr. Glenn E. Redecilla, BRGADRC Director and Dawani Adviser, administered the oath of office to the newly elected student-leaders.
During the General Assembly, Estiva and Lagat also led the ratification of the revised Constitution and By-Laws (CBL), marking a significant step in strengthening the organizationโs governance.
The second part of the activity featured the VAW First Responders Orientation, facilitated by Dr. Redecilla, as part of the groupโs preparation for the upcoming 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.
Dawani SCG is set to conduct its anti-VAW Caravan next week as part of the national 18-Day Campaign. The unwavering dedication of Dawani SCG members to advocacy, service, and community empowerment remains at the heart of its mission.
