Dawani campaigns to End VAW

Pili, Camarines Sur — Student leaders from the Dawani Student Core Group of the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture actively conducted a campus-wide Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) in support of the Bicol Regional Gender and Development Resource Center and the national 18-Day Campaign to End VAW.

As part of their advocacy, Dawani members visited various colleges across the university to raise awareness on gender-based violence, encourage safe spaces, and empower students to speak up. The campaign included interactive group discussions highlighting the Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law), students’ rights, and accessible reporting mechanisms.

To strengthen its reach, the team also distributed safetags embedded with QR codes that provide students with an easy and confidential reporting channel for cases related to gender-based sexual harassment and discrimination. | John Rey Estiva, video edit by Faith Angeli De Asis
