The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture – Pili Campus, through the Bicol Regional Gender and Development Resource Center (BRGADRC), Dawani Student Core Group (Dawani SCG), Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), and the Supreme Student Council (CBSUA-Pili SSC), officially launched the Inclusivity Park and marked the culmination of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women on December 12, 2025.
Key university officials attended the event, including President Alberto N. Naperi, Vice President for Academic Affairs Melinda P. Pan, Campus Administrator Allan B. Del Rosario, Office of Student Affairs and Services Director Jessel Ann P. Rodriguez, BRGADRC Director Dr. Glenn E. Redecilla, University Project Head for Training, Outreach, and Linkages Engr. Dulce Maria Abigail A. Jastio, GAD Staff Gochoel E. Bermas, SSC President Edward Joshua Mendoza, Dawani SCG members, partners, students, and other university stakeholders.
The program began with a welcome address from Dr. Allan B. Del Rosario, followed by BRGADRC Director Dr. Glenn E. Redecilla, who outlined the purpose and significance of the activity. This was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially opening the Inclusivity Park to the university community.
Messages of support were also delivered by university officials, highlighting the institution’s commitment to fostering safe and inclusive environments for all.
In her closing remarks, Engr. Dulce Maria Abigail A. Jastio led a prayer in honor of victims of violence against women, including the Divinagracia sisters, Clodette Jean and Kiela Mae, whose lives were tragically cut short in a brutal killing in Naga City earlier this month.
The ceremony concluded with a unified call for a VAW-free community—one where respect, equality, and accountability prevail. University officials urged students and stakeholders to stay engaged, stand against abuse, and actively contribute to creating safe spaces within and beyond the campus. Through continued awareness, volunteerism, and solidarity, CBSUA aims to foster a culture where every individual feels protected, valued, and empowered. | via John Rey Estiva
